Healthy Diet for Pregnant Women

A healthy diet is the first thing every pregnant woman is concerned about. Pregnancy is the first journey that you will have with your upcoming baby and nobody is more excited than you are. You want to know anything and everything that can keep your baby safe, healthy, and happy during those incredible nine months, and it's likely that you'll end up searching every website and different pregnancy book just to make sure you're doing everything right.

Have 2-4 servings of fruit, some bread, and a glass of milk each day. Doctors recommend four servings of dairy a day, and you can get these servings from milk, cheese, (especially cottage cheese) and yogurt. To ensure the proper development of your baby's brain and nervous system, doctors also recommend ingesting 230mg of Iodine per day. Continue your daily diet with at least three servings of protein a day; chicken, fish, eggs, and nuts are good sources of protein.
In order to have a healthy baby, you need to take care of yourself and the first step is starting with what you eat. During pregnancy, you should have exceptional nutrition; eat three healthy meals a day and do not skip any meal especially breakfast. However, take care to not overeat.

It's easy to gain too much weight during pregnancy. During pregnancy, weight gain is a concern, which is why you need to monitor your intake of sweets and fats to avoid any complications. Vegetables are equipped with high fiber, which can help to speed up your metabolism and avoid those extra pounds, so make sure to have enough veggies in your diet.

Eating high fiber foods can also prevent constipation and it can help to get rid the toxins in your body.  If you are not a big fan of vegetables try eating eat cereals, oats, pasta and rice. They can provide an adequate source of fiber in lieu of vegetables occasionally.

There are going to be days when your body will feel different. You may experience nausea, morning sickness, or loss of appetite; these symptoms can cause serious lack of nutrition. In order to ensure you have all the nutrients you need you should consistently take vitamins and minerals to support your growing baby bump - vitamin C is one of the important prenatal vitamins during your pregnancy. It will help your body fight infection and also acts as an antioxidant protecting cells from damage.

Fruits and veggies that contain Vitamin C such are:
·      Oranges
·      Grapefruits
·      Broccoli
·      Papaya 
·      Strawberries
·      Brussels sprouts
·      Green pepper
·      Mustard greens
·      Tomatoes (You will want consume enough enough to have 70mg of vitamin C a day.)
