Did you ever wonder where all the un-recycled plastic you throw out goes? It may very well end up in The Great Pacific Garbage Patch, the topic of a very powerful documentary; "Plastic Paradise."

We rate this film at a 5/5

This movie recounts the journey plastics have made since their inception in the 60s and from their productions into 2015. From plastic bags to toys, kitchenware and storage containers, Plastic Paradise covers the path these discarded items make through our planet and congregate in what's called "The Great Pacific Garbage Patch", a patch of ocean littered with plastic garbage that floats around for decades before being consumed by the ocean's wildlife and birds.

We watched this film and were stunned by what we learned and the responses top level executives had regarding the Patch; large producers of plastic and plastic-contained products. In the face of confrontation, many blatantly denied facts.

The most shocking thing we learned from this movie was truths about BPA, what its used in, how it can affect humans, what it was initially designed for and how we come into contact with it every day in the most unexpected places. We are glad to include this film in our Wildlife Awareness Campaign and hope many will watch it. The movie was produced in a very honest and quality oriented way, with interesting content and good investigative scenes. It has shocking discoveries and in-your-face calls to action.

The film is readily available on Netflix on Watch Instantly if you have a subscription or on YouTube. Watch the trailer below.

We recommend this movie to:

  • All environmentally conscious individuals
  • Animal activists
  • Environmentalist
  • Those wanting to learn more about plastic and BPAs affect on the planet
  • Every plastic consumer, so they know how their usage affects the planet
