Duggar Family Welcomes New Baby

The Duggar family from the hit TV series 19 kids and counting, can arguably be called one of America's favorite families; they are also one of America's largest families. This week the Duggar Dillard family welcomed a new baby boy, Israel David, born from Jill and Derek Dillard.

Jill stole the audience's heart during her wedding for Derek, as the first female member of the Duggar family to marry. She has now also become the first daughter of the Duggar family to become a mother.

The Duggar family is comprised of 19 children overall, born to Jim Bob Duggar and Shell Duggar, all of which are their natural children. The pair do have grandchildren already, from their eldest son Josh and his wife Anna, who currently have three children and one on the way in the summer.

The birth of Derek and Jill's baby was one of the most awaited in TV history, we still won't be able to see the birth air until May 5, but the couple did record a baby announcement for their fans introducing their son Israel David to the world; according to the announcement, Israel weighed a whopping 9 pounds 10 ounces and measured 23 inches in length.

While there were no life-threatening complications, there were some concerns as the baby was late by about a week, Jill initially expected to have her child at home like many of the Duggar children were birthed. Israel was ultimately born in a hospital setting as a precaution for the mother and the baby.

We want to wish Jill and Derek our sincerest congratulations on their firstborn child Israel David, and our blessings go out to the Duggar family on their new addition.
