3 Wholesome Cartoons for your Toddlers

Finding wholesome cartoons for your toddler is a feat these days. So we've compiled a list of our favorite cartoons that are family friendly and geared for younger children, ages 0-5.

Peppa Pig

This whimsical cartoon about a family of English Pigs is centered around Peppa, an uniquely smart girl who enjoys playing with her best friend Sussie and embarking on local adventures. Her parents are Daddy Pig and Mummy Pig, and she has a little brother named George. One thing all the characters have in common is jumping in muddy puddles.

The show plays out while a calm voiced narrator reinforces the scenes and keeps your toddler's attention, while teaching them how to identify important situations in the story. This cartoon is perfect for kidS who have a particular interest in books and stories, as it is a simple series with plots designed for young viewers. Its run time is 30 minutes with 2 episodes, 15 minutes each; it is geared towards girls but will be interesting to both genders.

Paw Patrol

This is one of the coolest action packed cartoons available for toddlers! While it is geared towards boys, Paw Patrol is fascinating to both genders and revolves around Ryder, a charismatic honest boy who leads a team of rescue puppies:

  • Chase, the responsible German Shepard, who takes the lead on most missions in his police car
  • Rocky, the mixed breed puppy who's main role is recycling and tools.
  • Zuma, the Chocolate Labrador; he enters water-based rescue missions using his hovercraft
  • Skye is the female Cockapoo who takes part in her helicopter.
  • Rubble- Rubble was the last member to join the patrol, and his main role is to be a construction dog. Rubble is an English Bulldog
  • Marshall- Marshall is the fire fighting Dalmatian with a big heart
This cartoon takes place in Adventure Bay, who's residents always seem to get themselves into trouble, and the Paw Patrol takes pleasure in saving them.

Bubble Guppies

Taking place underwater, this group of mermaid tots enjoy their days in school, where Mr. Grouper teaches them right from wrong and almost everything about the world. From the roles police officers play in society to why cars need gas, bubble guppies will answer all those questions your toddler may gather while they encounter different experiences throughout the day.

Usually, the guppies, comprised of Gil, Molly, Deema, Nonny, Ooma, and Goby, will dress up as the characters they are learning about and act out the parts. Along they way, their interactive learning technique will involve your child in the activities by asking them questions and pausing while your child thinks for an answer. The segments are guided by two little fish who keep viewers on track, and the guppies take their pet, Bubble Puppy, along for every ride.

These three cartoons are available on Nickelodeon's Nick Jr.
